The rope overload sensor is a micro electronic device that indicates to passengers the elevator is carrying more than its load capacity.
Can be easily installed being an external mounted arrangement
– with minimum downtime.
— Refrains the elevator from moving if there is an overload of passengers.
— “Overload” announcer enables passengers to take prompt action and restore the movement of the elevator.
— Eliminates passenger discomfort due to overcrowding and ensures consistent ride quality.
— Saves the elevator’s mechanical components from wear and tear, thereby enhancing the life of the elevator system.
— Avoids unexpected breakdown, resulting in passengers being stranded in the car
It is a sensitive microelectronic device that senses the total load of the elevator car carried by the steel ropes. Should the load exceed the rated load capacity of the car, ( i.e. the number of passengers that the elevator is built to carry ), the Rope Load Sensor immediately triggers a signal to the main controller of the elevator. The controller, in turn, refrains the elevator car from moving.
To give a clear signal to passengers about the overload in the car, the Rope Load Sensor comes with an “overload” announcer so that passengers realise the situation and make efforts to reduce the load by moving a passenger out.
Rope Load Sensor is a retrofit arrangement compatible with any Otis elevator system.
